Learner Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to explain the purpose of workplace health and safety, along with basic employer and employee responsibilities. They will be able to identify common causes of accidents, take steps to prevent them, and follow correct reporting and response procedures.
Learners will recognise different types of workplace hazards, carry out simple risk assessments, and choose appropriate control measures using the hierarchy of controls. They will understand how personal well-being, fatigue, stress, and hygiene influence safe working practices.
They will know what to do when first on the scene of an incident, take safe and appropriate first aid actions within their limits, and understand when professional help is required. Finally, learners will demonstrate their understanding through the end-of-course knowledge check.
